🎤About MC Terry🎤 9-times Award Winning MC Terry's love for salsa began in 1994 when I first stepped into Elder Sanchez's club at La Finca. His journey started with an unforgettable beginners lesson from Julian "The Duke," and from that moment, I was hooked! I danced up to five nights a week at iconic clubs like Villa Stefano, Bar Rumba, and Ronnie Scotts. His passion for the music grew alongside his dancing— Mr. Bongo Records was where I’d go for tunes, and Julian was often there to recommend gems like my first purchase, African Salsa by Africando. After Salsateca, he has learned from salsa legends like Homero, Leon Rose, and Robert Charlemagne. Back then, festivals didn’t exist as they do today, so they made do with unforgettable weekends at Pontins and Butlin's. Yes, he is an OD (Original Dinosaur). In the mid to late '90s, Yolande and he launched Salsa Chillout to share our love for salsa with others, a passion that still burns today. These days, you’ll often find him at festivals embracing my newer love for On2. His journey into On2 began with Funky Mambo, so it’s a special honour to be their MC as part of the Unity Project this New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
